Celebrating Eric Weber: A Legacy of Dedication and Service
After more than four decades in the agricultural industry, Eric Weber is retiring from AHW, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, exceptional service, and a deep commitment to customers and colleagues. Born and raised on a farm in Ashkum, Illinois, Eric’s upbringing instilled a profound appreciation for farmers, forming the foundation of his career.
Eric’s journey began after attending Kankakee Community College, where he studied Business Management. In 1976, he took his first role in the parts department at Hendrix International. A chance encounter would forever change his path—B&R Implement employees invited him to join their team. Through company transitions, including Shoemaker Equipment, Hogan Walker, and ultimately AHW in 2012, Eric remained a steadfast presence in the parts world.
For Eric, the most rewarding part of his job has always been the people. “Getting to know the farmers, taking care of them, and seeing their appreciation for what you do—it means everything,” he shared. Whether it was meeting a farmer late at night for parts or ensuring their needs were met, Eric’s dedication was unwavering. His colleagues often marveled at his work ethic, asking, “Who works these kinds of hours?” The answer was simple: someone who truly cared.
Over the years, Eric witnessed the evolution of technology, remembering the days of typewriters and ribbon machines for parts orders. Yet, he always believed in putting the customer first. His advice to younger generations is timeless: “It’s not about what you’re selling—it’s the service that keeps people coming back. Double-check the part, be accurate, and put the effort in for the customer.”
As Eric steps into retirement, he plans to spend more time doing what he loves—golfing (104 rounds last year and aiming for more), boating, and shooting pool. Beyond his career, Eric has also been a dedicated wrestling official for high school, middle school, and kids club leagues for 48 years.
Known affectionately as “Sprout” for his height and his bright green John Deere uniform, Eric wore it proudly to his retirement party. His sense of humor, commitment to service, and tireless work ethic have set a high standard at AHW.
Thank you, Eric, for almost 46 years of incredible service. Enjoy your well-deserved retirement, filled with golf, laughter, and relaxation!
