Honoring Michele Ogle: The Heart of AHW Ashmore Retires After 28 Years of Dedication
After nearly three decades of dedication, hard work, and love, we are honoring the retirement of Michele Ogle, who started with us in 1996. Michele’s journey began as the store cleaner, but she quickly became so much more—our bookkeeper, secretary, store administrator, and affectionately, the "mom of the store." Over the years, she’s worn many hats, and no matter her title, she was the heart of our Ashmore AHW. 💚
From the early days of Bill Coffey and Sons to Heaths of Ashmore, Arends Brothers in 2003, and finally becoming AHW in 2013, Michele’s role grew, touching every part of the business, especially in accounting, central invoicing, and administration.
“The customers and the people I’ve worked with—they’re my family,” Michele says. “My bosses have always given me the opportunity to learn.” Her journey from cleaner to a cornerstone of the store is a testament to her work ethic and love for the community.
“I get so excited to see everyone during planting and harvest—it’s like two Super Bowls! Everyone is excited about planting their fields and seeing how their crops did. It’s busy, but it’s fun. I’ll miss seeing the customers.” When asked to describe her career in one word, Michele reflects: blessed, grateful, and humbling. As Bill Edwards beautifully said, “You will not find a more dedicated person than her.”
Michele is ready for a new chapter filled with fishing and camping adventures with her husband, enjoying quilting, and chasing after her 11 grandchildren. “I can’t wait to kick back and enjoy life!”
Michele’s impact has been felt by all of us at AHW. Thank you, Michele, for all the years of laughter, guidance, and love you’ve brought to us. You’ve been more than an employee—you’ve been family. Enjoy every moment of your well-deserved retirement!
