Improved Residue Flow and Frame Strength Highlight New John Deere High-Speed Disk Series

Tillage Solutions for Every Farm Size

John Deere has introduced a new lineup of high-speed disks (HSD) designed to enhance field finish and residue management while being autonomy-ready straight from the factory. Replacing the largest models from the 2680H series, the new HSD lineup offers widths ranging from 25 to 45 feet, providing versatile options for various farm operations.

Enhanced Residue Flow and Field Performance

Designed with direct farmer input, these high-speed disks help optimize field preparation by improving residue flow and reducing plugging in challenging tillage conditions. The redesigned model increases the spacing between the disk and finishing basket by 4 inches, significantly enhancing residue flow.

"By increasing the distance between disks and basket, we have improved field finish in high-residue conditions," said Michael Porter, John Deere's go-to-market manager for tillage equipment. "This allows operators to run at speeds up to 14 mph, maximizing efficiency in narrow planting windows."

Precision Ag and Autonomy-Ready Features

The new HSD series comes autonomy-ready from the factory, helping farmers prepare for the future of on-farm automation. Each disk is pre-equipped with a receiver mast, wiring harness, lighting package, and TruSet™ technology, requiring only the addition of a StarFire® 7500 Receiver to connect with an autonomous tractor for hands-free tillage.

"With autonomy-ready features in-base, we've eliminated hardware barriers, making it easier for farmers to integrate autonomous operations into their workflow," Porter added.

The HSD series joins other autonomous-ready tillage tools in the John Deere lineup, including the coulter chisel (CC series), 2430 chisel plow, 5-section 2230 field cultivators, and the 2660VT vertical tillage tool.

Stronger Frame, Greater Durability

Built for long-lasting performance, the new HSD lineup features a reinforced frame with 7-inch tubing to minimize wing bounce and improve structural integrity. The three-year frame warranty underscores John Deere's commitment to reliability. Additionally, the disk includes bolted, cast pivot bushings with a 50% increased surface area, offering easier maintenance and improved protection from debris.

"We listened to our customers and designed a pivot bushing system that simplifies maintenance and extends durability," Porter said. "By switching to a bolt-on design, we’ve made repairs more straightforward, ensuring maximum uptime."

Versatile Widths for Every Farm

Available in widths from 25 to 45 feet, the HSD series accommodates operations of all sizes. For farmers requiring narrow transport, the HSD25, HSD29, HSD32, and HSD35 fold down to an industry-best 13-foot transport width. Meanwhile, larger models such as the HSD39, HSD42, and HSD45 offer transport widths of 16 feet, catering to high-acreage farms needing increased tillage capacity.

With cutting-edge features and customer-driven enhancements, the new John Deere high-speed disk series is set to revolutionize tillage efficiency and performance for modern farming operations.
